Passionate about Radio

Sapphire & Radio go back a long way, you might even say we’re passionate about it. We’ve worked with some big names, on prestigious projects, including BBC, UTV & RTE.

Looking for talent? We have them. We also have the technical people to keep your station on air & the perfect people to run your outside broadcasts smoother than a military operation.

Our Event Radio offering is second to none & over the years we’ve worked with many major events to bring an added dimension & information channel to the mix. Most notably, we have worked with Truckfest to deliver Truckfest FM - a radio station broadcasting for 4 days to deliver music, information & additional entertainment to Europe’s biggest truck show.

Sapphire also offer “media weeks” for schools & colleges. Our work with Peterborough Regional College over the course of 6 years saw us deliver a 24\7 live radio station with content presented & produced by students, the entire production & technical operation was supported by Sapphire – it meant we worked 19 hour days, but thats how passionate we are about radio!

Sapphire own & operate a number of modern Sony ENG cameras & audio equipment, meaning we produce great looking video too. Our work in this arena has taken us to some interesting & fun places – in fact, we’ve built up quite a specialism in the Equestrian circuit in Northern Ireland & Ireland.

Digital & Social Media

The world is changing, media is changing faster than anything. No longer do we turn primarily to broadcast outlets for our news – Twitter & Facebook always get there first. The challenge in todays connected media world, where everyone is a journalist, is to work these emerging channels to your advantage.

Sapphire have been at the forefront of digital media, streaming & social media as they have emerged over the years. We broadcast our first internet radio stream in 1998 & haven’t stopped since. Since then, we’ve built a solid radio streaming platform Airstream to deliver audio, our Flash Media Server platform is ideal for delivering live video streams to hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. We’ve even built our very own Content Delivery Network to take the hassle out of getting material out there – we even handle multiple devices & detect acceptable bandwidth on the fly, making sure your content is always delivered at its best.

Production

Sapphire encompasses a full service production house for both TV & Radio – we produce station imaging, advertising & other elements for a number of commercial & community media clients.

We can deliver projects in any digital format through online delivery, on DVD or either HDV or DVCAM tape stock. Audio projects can be delivered as required via e-delivery in any format or on CD/DVD. We have made the conscious decision to not offer DAT or Minidisc delivery, however we do accept MiniDisc for ingest.

Broadcast Technology, Studio & Transmission Engineering

Technology is at the heart of everything we do – nowhere moreso than at the heart of a modern broadcast operation. Sapphire have extensive project management, design & build experience of Studio Complexes & transmission chains for both TV & Radio. We provide a full-service solution to any requirement no matter on what scale that may be, including working with you to design a specification, systems integration, training your team & ongoing support – because we’re broadcast professionals, we’re sensitive to the way you work & your deadlines too. Streaming

We’ve invested in a state of the art audio & video streaming, digital delivery & content management system, designed fully  in house by Sapphire & built on common standards. This makes us the ideal choice to deliver your radio station, TV broadcast or event online. Our system provides full management & control for both live & on demand services, plus smart on-the-fly re-encoding to suit end user devices & connections.
