Sapphire have been involved in RSL & Community radio from the very beginning, we've all been there, done the long days & given birth to a new radio station on very tight & often nil budgets...so...we know what it's like when our clients are trying to do the same. AirStream isn't just about radio either - we've just deployed Flash Media Server & can now offer great video delivery too - we're watching OfComs "Local TV" initiative very carefully & have set ourselves up as a key player in this market to provide streaming to these new broadcasters at a reasonable rate.

This led us to an important resolution - to make "major group" standard services affordable to the smaller broadcaster & this is just what we've done with AirStream.

So...What IS AirStream?

AirStream is a hosted streaming service, backed by concrete Service Level Agreements, a 99.95% uptime assurance & a support team who are passionate about broadcast & technology.

We offer MP3 & AAC audio streaming with full control panel, statistics & reporting facilities. As if this wasn't enough, our MP3 & AAC streaming is compatible with just about every player out there & is the de-facto standard for iTunes & WiFi radios, as well as working seamlessly with embedded plugins like Flash & Silverlight.

We also offer seamless digital delivery of online video content either on-demand or live via our Flash Media Server cluster, which is capable of delivering hundreds of simultaneous streams to your viewers as either unicast or multicast.

AirStream is hosted in our datacentre based on the UKs south coast, outside of London & well out of "harms way", the datacentre is staffed 24\7\365 by first class technicians & is linked directly into the backbone via diverse fibre links.

As part of our MP3\AAC service Sapphire will help you submit your station to major Internet Radio directories such as iTunes Radio & Reciva, with whom we already have a trusted working relationship, giving us shorter lead times to listing. Regardless of your service selection, we work with you to ensure your encoder is set up correctly (& we even have hire stock if you cant get an encoder together) & we monitor your transmissions around the clock for technical integrity.

To make it easier for your finance people, we accept payment not only via conventional bank transfer & standing order, but by Paypal too, so you're always assured of the security of your funds & ease of payment. That not enough? There is no minimum contract either, we're sure you'll want to stay around though!

What does it all cost?

As with all streaming services, costs are based broadly on bandwidth & number of "slots" - these are viewers of listeners.
